Tom Bagshaw’s work, “Neve,” for the 3rd Annual Supersonic Invitational.

The 3rd Annual Supersonic Invitational opens Thursday, January 9th at Spoke Art in San Francisco, California and will feature brand new work by over 40 artists from around the world.  There will be giveaways for the first attendees (but more on that later).

Shades.

On Saturday, July 27th Corey Helford Gallery will present the group show, “Shades: An Exploration of the Single Palette.”  The show explores the beauty of single colors used for a work of art and will include work from artists Tom Bagshaw, Michael Peck, Melissa Haslam, Soey Milk, Chloe Early, Nate Frizzell and many others.  Corey Helford Gallery is located in Culver City, California.

Earthly Delights

My contribution to the upcoming Supersonic Electronic Invitational 2 show at Spoke Art gallery in San Francisco. One off digital painting, printed on cotton rag stock, mounted on board- varnished and framed, 17x20”. Top is the final image and below are some progress shots taken from my Instagram feed. First is a small thumbnail image, just to generate some ideas, the next 2 are hi res working screen grabs and lastly- the final piece framed up ready to ship.

The Supersonic Interview: Tom Bagshaw

Tom Bagshaw’s paintings (They’re digital but they’re still paintings) bring forth images of the recondite space just beyond that eerie threshold in the distance.  Most times the step into this world, Tom’s world, conjures haunted visions of elegant, bewitching females in the midst of their own magic.  These witch’s strengths are not elusive and grasp the viewers attention tightly while casting their spell.  And you think, somewhere in the back of your mind, that you don’t mind being enchanted by such beautiful things.  That, perhaps, this is what you mostly wanted.
